The Pig City is the thirteenth level in Pizza Tower, and the first level of the Slum.

The level initially takes place in an unkempt city inhabited by pigs. In the second section of the level, the setting changes to a bustling Chinatown overrun by Shrimp Thugs.

During Pizza Time, the Chinatown part becomes twisted and dilapidated, with giant crabs appearing in the background, and the first section of the city is on fire.

The level's titlecard shows an alleyway in the city, with The Noise waving happily at a large grumpy pig citizen, and a Pizza Slug, A wanted poster depicting Peppino is seen on the wall.

Collectables[]

All of the Toppins in the level are located in Taxi rooms, each simply being on the path.

The first Toppin is rewarded for clearing Taxi 1.

The second Toppin is rewarded for clearing Taxi 2.

The third Toppin is rewarded for clearing Taxi 3.

The fourth Toppin is rewarded for clearing Taxi 4.

The fifth Toppin is rewarded for clearing Taxi 5.

Gerome is located in the fifth Taxi room, being behind Breakable Blocks. He is in a visible clearing in the right wall. The door to the The Pig City Treasure is located in the jail room. The player needs to ground pound the floor under the toilet, then dash to the right to get to the door.

Pumpkin is located in the first room after Peppino gets put in jail.

Secrets[]

The first secret is in the second Taxi room, around the middle. There is a crack in the left wall. The player needs to run into that wall at Mach 2 to get into secret. A nearby Hamkuff can easily get the player to speed.

In this secret, the player bounces between Hamkuffs while breaking metal blocks.

The second secret is in the fourth Taxi room. There is an eye-marked corner of the wall to the left of the semisolid platform that contains two Shrimp Thugs.

In this secret, the player uses Gustavo's rail-gripping mechanic.

The third secret is in the fifth Taxi room, a little past Gerome. There is a tan box peeking out from the upper-right corner. Jump towards it using the Rat Balloons to reach the secret, inside a hidden wall.

In this secret, the player uses Rat Balloons and boost pads to ascend the room.

Trivia[]

  • This, And Wasteyard's Titlecards are the only Titlecards to Not Physically Feature Peppino.
  • In the third Taxi room, right above the police car disguised as an exit taxi, two bacon strips can be found on the ceiling. There is a hidden door leading to a room with 20 Bacon Toppings that don't appear anywhere else. Finding this room earns the player an achievement.
  • The in-universe reason behind the existence of this room are still unclear, but seeing its contextually grim nature and the presence of a police car next to its entrance, it is speculated that the bacon room could be the hideout of a serial killer and that the police car was hidden there as a way for the Hamkuffs to identify and apprehend the culprit, but mistakenly arrested Peppino instead.
  • The level used to include a circus area and an underground area, but this has since been scrapped. Remnants of these locations are inside a secret room in the hub and Fake Peppino chase sequence.
  • This level formerly used the track "Delivery for the City" instead of "Bite the Crust", but it was changed as the composer of the song, ClascyJitto (aka Frostix) isn't proud of it and wanted it removed.
  • This level was at first titled Street in Rework before getting its final name.
  • At the beginning of the level, there is a hole in a wall. Grabbing through that hole reveals a path to Grandpa. Getting hit by him grants the player the Itchy Sweater outfit.
  • The inclusion of hay decorations could be a reference to the houses in The 3 Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf.
  • The title card for this, Crust Cove, and Wasteyard, are the only ones that do not directly show Peppino, and rather a poster of him appears here.
  • The 5th Background is originally used for the scrapped Kung-Fu level.
  • Upon entering this stage, the game's window will rename itself to "The mean Pizza Tower streets".
  • The Tower Secret Treasure for this level is a "jelly stuffed donut", which just so happens to be an onigiri. This is a reference to an episode of Pokemon, where Brock says he loves jelly stuffed donuts while eating onigiris.
